What is “I Made This!”?: Each Monday here in the studio, I’ll invite you to share what you’ve made over the week before. It can be anything – a flower arrangement, a crocheted cap, a painting, a poem, a party, an outfit, a cake! Show what you made and tell us a bit about what the experience was like for you. What inspired you? What did you learn? How were you challenged? What did you love? And hey, if you want to share the inspiration, the pattern, the recipe, the kinds of supplies you used, we’ll all be the richer for it!
To Participate: Create an “I Made This!” post on your blog and add the direct link* in the Mr. Linky below. Be a sunbeam of love as you visit other makers, celebrating their creativity and sharing inspiration along the way. It would be great if you could also link back here as an invitation to other creative hearts to jump in and share. I’ve got a badge for you if you’d like to add it to your blog.
And please know, whatever you made doesn’t have to be perfect or beautiful or even finished – though it might be. I just want us to share what we’re creating with our hearts and with our hands and to remember how much fun it can be to say, “I made this!”
Let’s make this something wonderful!
*PS A direct link is when you share the address for the actual post instead of just your blog (e.g. http://jamieridlerstudios.ca/introducting-i-made-this-monday instead of just http://jamieridlerstudios.ca)
I am so excited about this new Creative Living Activity here at the studio: I Made This! Every week I’m going to invite you to this loving Show & Tell where we share waht we’ve made and celebrate the creations of others.
This week I ran out of yarn for the blanket I’m crocheting. Ack! It was time to find a new project that I could enjoy while waiting for fresh yarn to arrive. I looked through some crochet magazines I have and also visited Ravelry for inspiration. I was looking for something not too difficult and that I already had appropriate yarn for. I was so excited when I found this free sock pattern. (I keep calling patterns “recipes, lol!)
I consider myself a newbie crocheter and am still learning to read patterns. You can see where I started to get the hang of it. Though this morning as I looked at what other people created I think I got it wrong, The little holes are supposed to move over slightly each time creating the “twist” to these Twisting Lace Socks. I also got stuck at the heel.
That’s okay. It’s all about the learning. Bit by bit I’ll figure it out and if it’s fun, eventually everyone I know will have a new pair of socks!
I’m sharing this post as a part of I Made This! If you want to share something you made this week, come on by and join in!
On Today’s Behind the Scenes: Introducing “I Made This” Mondays, my new ring and which came first, the clarity or the containers?

As we move into the new site, I’m pulling some treasures out of the studio vault and finding them a new home. One of the wonderful projects I have participated in was a collaboration to create this powerful set of affirmation cards with Amanda and Jenn of Kind over Matter, Brandi aka The Joy Rebel and Rachelle aka Magpie Girl. I received such loving feedback about the inspirational messages in these cards, including finding out that they’ve been heartwarming support in classrooms and for participants in healing groups and in that makes me beam! May they bring lots of inspiration your way.
May they bring you inspiration and joy!
