Hi Jamie… What trying times dealing with water damage and repair. Take good care of yourself in the process. Regarding the bookcase coming down… I swear by Wobble Wedges. They are a small, clear, hard plastic wedges that you can buy at hardware stores or on amazon. They also are known as toilet shims. I place them on either side of each front leg or straight front of my bookcases and it slightly tilts the bookcase toward the wall so even if you try to pull it forward… it won’t tilt.
