The word mastery used to conjure up feelings of falling short because I was interested in so many different things that I always felt like a beginner until I heard someone (maybe Shaun McNiff?) say something like being a master of using the imagination..I’m sorry i don’t remember where I read that but I embraced the idea as a wonderful invitation to “infuse it” into my personal practice..I no longer worry about mastering dance, knitting, collaging, hiking and so on..but I continue to deepen my practice of engaging with IMAGINATION…fun right?
